Hello Everyone!
Well,by reading the title of this post it may sound a bit weird and you may be wondering like really girl, do you shave your face? And my answer is YES I do. To some people this may sound something completely new or astonishing but there are many people like me who follow this method to remove facial hairs. There are so many myths relating to this topic, so today in this post , I am going to go through all the benefits of shaving your face, how I do it and also clear out the myths regarding it.
Honestly I have very dark and thick facial hairs since childhood and it really bothers me a lot. Believe me I have tried every other way of removing facial hairs be it some DIY face masks or waxing. Basically I started to deal with my facial hairs by bleaching it since I was in highschool and I did it for two years straight. But eventually when I started to wear foundation then this method was of no use as the foundation would cling to my hairs making it look more horrible. It was then when I started to remove my facial hair through a more natural way that is by threading . It was an effective method but was really very painful and also I had to get it done by professionals since it was not very easy to do at home. I even tried waxing at home but that was just useless. Then one day while watching some of Amy’s videos on youtube I came across the method of shaving the face. At first I was really skeptical about it but eventually I wanted to give it a try. Its been months now since I first started shaving my face and I can totally recommend this method over any other methods of removing facial hairs .
Myths
There are so many myths regarding shaving your face, that everytime you shave it the hair tends to grow thicker or after shaving your face some red bumps starts to appear or your face texture can get very bumpy but all these myths aren’t really true at all. I have been trying this method out for so long and I haven’t really noticed any thing of that sort. But also I would like to say that if you have very small peach-fuzz hairs and it doesn’t bother you , do not follow this method. Its for girls who have a bit more facial hair and want their makeup to look more flawless and natural.
How I remove my facial hairs?
The only tool that you will need for this method is a little razor that is designed specially for removing facial hairs. I got mine form the brand name Tinkle, specifically because I saw Carli Bybel use this particular brand and as I said I was very very skeptical about it so I got the exact same razor like hers but you can go for any other mini razor like this and it will get the job done for you.
I recommend doing this hair removal process at night as because once you finish removing your makeup and cleansing your face this method actually helps to exfoliate the face along with removing facial hairs.
The main areas where I usually like to shave are the sides of my face, upper lip area, and my fore head. As you can see in the above picture, I am placing the razor at an angle which will help to remove the facial hairs effectively and using a light hand is also very very important. Also while shaving your face slightly pull your skin in the other direction to tighten the area where you are shaving as this makes the whole process a lot easier.
After shaving, clean your face with a facial wipe and then apply an aloe vera gel, as it has many soothing properties and is very beneficial if you apply it right after shaving your face. It tends to give your face a cooling sensation and also helps in avoiding any kind of rashes. After completing this step you can do your night skincare routine as usual.
Benefits of shaving your face
- Shaving makes your makeup look absolutely flawless and your skin looks more smooth than before and also it helps the foundation to go on lot more smoother and blends well into the skin
- Shaving actually helps to exfoliate your face more than scrubs or any other exfoliators available in the market.
- Shaving is also proven to be an anti-ageing treatment due to its exfoliating properties.
- If you are someone who has very sensitive skin and cannot use any chemicals to remove your facial hairs, try this method as it has no side effects compared to other methods of hair removal.
So, that’s pretty much all the information you need to know regarding shaving your facial hairs. I have tried so many other methods but none of them were as effective and easy like this method. I am sorry if this post was a bit too long, but I wanted to pass on as much as information I know regarding this topic. I hope you find this post helpful, also do let me know in the comments below if you end up trying this method and if you have any query regarding this topic.

So informative 🙂 I personally do not shave my face because I am quite a fair person so if I risk shaving it off it can grow much more.

This is great! I have terribly sensitive skin and threading my upper lip alone kills me! Thinking of trying this out! From where did you buy the razor though?
Loved your blog! Wish you could check out mine too and let me know how you like it!

I have been thinking about doing this for awhile but have been scared to try it. Right now I wax my upper lip and I just cringe at the thought of how many wrinkles I am probably causing each time. I tried bleaching too, but like you found it didn’t really help when applying makeup. Thanks for posting about this and your experience. Makes me rethink giving it a try. 🙂
