Lakme 9 to 5 CC Cream Review and Swatches

Hello Everybody!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you all are doing well.

Recently I went on a shopping spree and bought quite a lot of makeup items which reminds me of doing a makeup haul post, but as of now I will be reviewing the Lakme 9 to 5 Complexion Care Cream which is one of the haul items. Originally CC means color correcting but Lakme here changed it to complexion care cream which acts more like a tinted moisturizer. This cream comes with two different shades , one is Beige which will suit fair to medium skin tones and another is Bronze which will suit darker skin tones. So read down below to find whether it was a hit or a miss.

Packaging : The packaging of this CC cream somewhat reminds me of the Bodyshop Instaglow CC Creams except for the nozzle part. It is a super glossy peach hued tube which is very travel friendly. When I first saw this CC cream I went crazy and ordered it instantly  without seeing any reviews  ( by the way which I regret now) only because it looked so darn cute. It is the only CC or BB cream that I own with such classy packaging.

How it fared me ? Since I was running low on my tinted moisturizer I thought of getting this CC cream as one of my friend really liked this product and suggested me to try it out. This cream has a SPF 30 PA ++ and has a creamy texture which blends really well into the skin. At first I was so excited about this CC cream  that as soon as it arrived I tried it out instantly. But was really disappointed as it gave me a white cast and did not cover any imperfections or discolorations. The next day I tried it out again with a damp beauty sponge but the result was same. So after a few days I tried it out again and this time I mixed the tiniest amount of this cream with my foundation which seemed to work well but still was looking a bit too pale. So finally I came to the conclusion that this cream is a total waste of money and does not do anything that it claims to. Honestly I had really high hopes for this because people seemed to rave about the Lakme 9 to 5 range, although I hardly have any Lakme products except for a foundation and a compact which I used long time back. Maybe I need to give it a proper go again or I guess me and Lakme, we don’t go very well together. However I used this twice and it stayed on my skin for 5-6 hours which is more than enough for a CC cream to last that long. I wish this cream had a little coverage and did not leave that awful white cast to the skin or else this could have been my go-to CC cream for summers.

Do I recommend?  I would definitely say no I don’t recommend this at all. This cream makes my skin look white like I am talking about chalk-white when applied alone. It does not cover up any imperfections and does not live up-to its claims. I still have it in my vanity because it makes my makeup stash look pretty, if that make any sense. Definitely this is going to top my regret buying list of the month without any doubt. If you have a very fair complexion and a flawless skin then maybe this will work and give  your skin a slight bit glow or unless you are planning to do a Halloween makeup, you can purchase this. But sadly this cream did not work for me at all even after I tried it out several times.

Thank You so much Arnakashi for these amazing review. I had been looking for a minimal coverage cream and I believe this won’t work too. I am currently using Redist BB Cream but I am running out. Do you have any recommend?

Nice! This cream seems to be very useful. I usually need lotions and creams that have sunscreen in them since I’m quite prone to getting freckles from the sun. Great post and good review 🙂
